FEDERAL BUDGET / TAXES: During the 19-year career of Congress, Paul said he has never charge for a law, taxes, and voted voted against the federal spending changes. Would eliminate the Internal Revenue Service, repeal the federal income tax and is open to a national sales tax in place, but only if Congress deep cuts in federal spending on first. ABORTION: Has an anti-abortion vote, but opposes aConstitutional amendment to ban abortion and instead favors allowed states to restrict the procedure as they see fit. Global Warming: Restrictions on pollution should be carried out of the state rather than federal level. Gay Marriage: Would we, States Set restrictions on marriage and voted against the federal Defense of Marriage Act in 2004. Says marriage is a religious institution, but would not be against states issuing licenses that recognized union of same-sex partners.
